Captain Nigar Sultana praised her team’s determination and highlighted crucial performances by Ritu Moni and the disciplined bowling attack that restricted Scotland to 103-7.

Bangladesh claimed their first win at an ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup since 2014 as they defeated debutants Scotland by 16 runs. Saskia Horley took three late wickets to stifle Bangladesh who had been led by Sobhana Mostary as she produced her highest international score of 36, as they made 119 for seven.

Bangladesh have ended a decade-long drought by securing a victory in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament was initially scheduled to take place in Bangladesh but was relocated to the UAE due to anti-government protests.
